Here's our list:
2) Go to Swiss Days and get way too many great ideas
3) Wish my Dad a very happy birthday
4) Go to those places that we just don't have here, or are harder to get to, ie: Swiss Days, Deseret Book, Distribution, you get the idea!
5) Enjoy time with family
Item #2 was the next thing I needed to cross off. What is Swiss Days? It's this really great craft show in Midway, Utah. Midway is in the mountains so it's a lovely drive up there. All around a great time.
This year, my Grandma decided to come with us. We were really excited to show her how fun Swiss Days could be.
How fun is Swiss Days you ask? For a crafter, it's RIDICULOUSLY fun! There are quite literally hundreds of ideas and fun things to buy. Did I take any pictures? Nope, not a one, but we had a great time. It rained a little bit, which just made it so there were fewer people there, which is just fine with me.
I did get a few things, most of which had to be shipped home, oops, but they were well worth it! (Brent may disagree, but I think they were)
I love Swiss Days!
We also got a chance to wish my Dad a very happy birthday, a few days early! (We wished Katie a very happy birthday too since they share the same birthday!) I did take pictures there. Not many and sadly none of the birthday boy, but I did take pictures!
My family is not, shall we say, very cooperative when it comes to pictures. After this, I gave up.
Except for Cadence, my cousin James and his wife Chelcie's new baby. She had very little to say about the pictures.
Ok, probably because she can't talk yet, but still she didn't complain about the pictures. Now, being outside in the hot, that she did complain about. Poor thing. It is hot in Utah!
Oh, and inanimate objects let me take their pictures.
This is my Dad's cake. The flower on top has a sparkler and candles and plays happy birthday. It was kind of cool. Well, actually, I wish my mom would have warned me before I was lighting it that there was a sparkler. That kind of made me jump.
And...no picture of my mom and no good pictures of my cousin Jennifer's little girl Sarah. Sorry about that guys.
Happy Birthday Dad!
After that, we just did some shopping at places we don't have around here. Ok, there is a Deseret Book, but it's far away and hard to get to. I got a new temple dress and Brent got new temple pants. Woho! Stuff like that.
We did go to my new favorite store - The Wood Connection. This is a great place! Lots of fun things to make and do, which you know I love. The thing with the Wood Connection is that they have this great blog where they show all their great stuff, but then they don't ship things. RUDE!
I came home with a lot of projects:
I am so excited. In fact, maybe I'll work on that this afternoon. Hmmm....that sounds so much more fun than paying bills!
Oh, wait, I forgot one picture from Brent's Mom:
aka Sister L*. Good luck in Houston! Can't wait to hear all the great stories.
It was a wonderful long weekend! And nice to see so much of our family! Love you guys!
5) Enjoy time with family

Just one question...how did you get all your fun crafting stuff home?!!!
My question too, where did you put all that stuff in your suitcase? Amazing.
Glad you got to do so many fun things and cross so many things off your list :) Lovely!
It was a GREAT time and a lot of fun doing all of those things!! I think we should both make a pact to get our Wood Connection things done this week - they are going to be AWESOME!! Thanks for the fun updates of your trip down here - miss you already! And don't worry about not taking my picture :) - now on to our next adventure!!!
