Hello There

I just really want to blog about something. I don't know exactly what to blog about though. So, I'm just going to talk. This should be interesting.

We've been getting ready to update the, what we'll now call, guest room. This room was formerly the computer room. So, see ya popcorn ceiling, blue paint and holes in the wall. Hello beautifully redone non-popcorn ceiling, hole-free walls and orange paint. Woho!

Because of working on the guest room, we've had to move everything out of it. That's been fun. Now my tomatoes are growing in our bedroom, the futon is on it's side in the new computer room - and also Daisy's new favorite perch - and the plethora of other things are strewn about the house. Sigh. I guess it's a good motivation to get that room done! Then we can go to Ikea and get the new furniture I want. I love being organized!

Last week it was beautiful! I worked out in the yard and found some gardening muscles that I had forgotten about. This week is not yet beautiful, but maybe soon!

We've been starting our plans for terracing our front yard. It's going to be a LOT of work, but it will be great when it's done. I hope. Both be great and be done.

Our neighbor is moving. Anyone want to buy the house next door?

And, Brent didn't predict a single of the Final Four! This is not a banner year for him! But all I can say is...go VCU!

Oh, and check out my new thing I'm doing for Made by the Sea.

I can't wait to do all the before and after pictures. We just have to get some stuff "after" ready.

This is Why March is Not Always My Favorite

You may think that I'm going to say that March isn't my favorite because of March Madness. That wonderful time of year where Brent is glued to the tv, watching game after game with bracket in hand.

I don't really mind that. It gives me a chance to catch up on my tv watching - I've even been watching a little Roswell on Netflix. (Yeah, I know...I like weird shows)

I also don't mind because Brent really loves it and he really doesn't watch that many sports the rest of the year. (I know, I'm the nicest wife ever!)

What I hate about March is watching my team lose. Granted there is still 4:22 left, but they're 10 points behind. I'm just not good at this.

Go Aggies!

Good For Them

I have to admit something...and I apologize now for any feelings that will be hurt by this statement, but...I'm not a fan of BYU. I went to Utah State and the University of Utah. My grandpa would probably come back and haunt me if I ever cheered for BYU. Not to mention my husbands feelings.

Having said that, I have to say...good for you BYU! Their star basketball player violated the honor code and they threw him off the team. That takes A LOT of guts this close to the tournament. But, a rule is a rule and everyone should have to follow them.

Then I saw this clip. The title said, "Are BYU's standards too high?" (or something to that affect.) See for yourself what these gentlemen thought.

Wowie!

This will probably be the only time you will ever hear these words from my mouth, but...

Go BYU!

Teaching

I love to teach.

When I first got married, I would never have thought that I would say something like that. My first calling as a married person was to teach the 7-8 year olds in Primary. Brent was the other teacher. So, for the first few months, I made him teach all the time. I was just so scared. Then I FINALLY opened my mouth and, well, it's been downhill ever since.

Now I would rather teach than just about anything. I only get to teach about four times a year in my current calling so when I do get to teach, I'm all excited.

So, why am I saying this...well...I'm sitting here wondering what to teach on Sunday. I have some ideas but they don't seem to be gelling into a complete lesson. I really need to buckle down and just start writing stuff down, because it's a great idea. I really feel like it's what I should be teaching about. I just can't seem to focus.

Maybe I'm hungry. Why do I want KFC mashed potatoes? Seriously.
