Sluiskin Falls

Hiking to Myrtle Falls just didn't seem like enough so we decided to go on to Sluiskin Falls. In the book, it said that it got pretty steep after Myrtle, so I was a little scared. It did get steeper, but not too bad, at first. Here are some pictures...

This is how far we got, but we were trying to get to Sluiskin Falls above....

Such a pretty trail.

We saw a couple of hikers that said there was a bear in the valley, but we looked and looked and never did see it. Apparently, it crossed the trail right in front of another hiker. That would have been both cool and a little bit scary!

It was such a beautiful day and such a beautiful place! We were having a great time. But then it was time to walk out of the valley, up towards Sluiskin Falls. So, we kept going up and up and I kept getting more and more tired. Finally, we pulled out the map and decided it was another 3/4 of a mile, but straight up. Well, that was as far as we got that day. I knew I needed some energy to get back because Brent has a rule, You pack it in, you pack it out!
We posed for one scrunch picture, and headed back down the mountain.
On our way down, we saw these older ladies that we had seen on the way up. Yep, I had passed them. I was so proud. But she said they had seen the bear that we had looked for and looked for. Well, if she could do it, so could we. All the way out we looked and looked and this is all we saw...

Just a couple of marmots! Man! And I decided that if marmots were out, I doubt there were bears around...

So, in the end, we had a great hike, but we didn't get to our destination. Maybe some time!
The white arrow is Sluiskin Falls (we think) and the red arrow is where we got to. Still a long hike!

Also very pretty! I'm glad you didn't see the bear. That would have been scary.
