Day at Home - Sort Of

After getting home from the hospital late and being sleep deprived for the last few days we were looking forward to a slow quiet day at home.  Ah the best laid plans and dreams.  Since Ty is a little bit jaundiced, we had to take him to the lab this morning to get his bilirubin level checked.  So mid morning we loaded back in to the car and took him back to the only other place he has known in his short time, the hospital.  Luckily he likes to ride in the car, just like his mom he is put right to sleep.

After the lab nurse pricks his foot and squeezes a small vile of blood out, its time to get back in the car and head for home.  When we are just about home the phone rings and its the lab tech telling us that the sample was spilled and could we possibly come back and subject Tyler to another blood letting.  What are you kidding me, was the initial reaction, amid shock, dismay and threatening a pox upon his house.  Since it was lunch time and we were all hungry, it could wait till after lunch.

After lunch the family snuggled together before going to Silverdale, again. (Notice that Ashley is nursing Ty and Daisy is laying on her legs. Yep, that's pretty much how I thought it was going to be.)

Everyone at the lab was very apologetic to have to subject this cute little guy to more torture.  He was not shy about letting the whole hospital know about how he was being tortured.  Good set of lungs on this one for sure.  I do have to say that I was impressed that the lab tech took personal responsibility and apologized for messing up.  Still sucked that it had to be done twice.

But other that that he is doing good.  He's figuring out how to eat and nap and be awake and all the other things that babies learn.  So for your daily dose of cuteness here are some new pics.

He likes to wave is arms and legs around, so there are quite a few pics with blurry hands or feet.

Don't you just love his little feet?

I absolutely love his little feet! And I thought it was bad enough they had to take Tyler's blood twice, but I didn't know you had to drive back to Silverdale in order to do it. That really stinks!
