It Turns Out That I'm Not Crazy!

Brent gets up at 5:15 am, which is a little early for me, so normally I just roll over enough to make sure he's getting up, then I go back to sleep. This morning I was just in that half asleep, half awake state when it felt like someone ran into the bed. Just a little jolt that woke me up. Then there was another little jolt once I was awake. I could hear the shower still going, so I knew it wasn't Brent. I decided that I was just more asleep than awake and I was dreaming. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that it might have been an earthquake.

When Brent came in to say good bye, I said, "I think I felt an earthquake, did you feel anything?" To which Brent said, with a chuckle in his voice, "No, you must have been dreaming." Maybe...

After I got up for the day, the phone rang and it was Brent. "Just wanted to let you know that you're not crazy." There was an earthquake! It was about 4.5 magnitude and centered in Kingston, which is 30 miles north of here. Hah! I knew I wasn't sleeping.

That makes two earthquakes that I have felt and, surprisingly enough, I felt both when I was in bed. Coincidence...well, probably.

I didn't know how far away this earthquake would be reported on the news, so I thought I'd share my story of earthquake #2 and tell you all that it was a very small earthquake and there is no damage, just a lot of people being woken up.

Have a great day!

I think being in bed would be the best place to experience an earthquake!!!

Princess Ashley. I always knew there was something about you. I'm so mad I slept through it! As ridiculous as it sounds, I've always wanted to experience an earthquake.

Wild...I am sure you thought you might be dreaming. I was in bed one time a long time ago (before you were born) and had just read the Exorcist (which I hated and went and threw away as soon as I finished...didn't want it in my house!) anyway, I was alone in bed and all of a sudden the bed started moving and the first thing I thought was that "they" were coming for me...then I realized it was an earthquake. Funny enough, that made me feel better. Hope you don't get awakened like that anymore!!!
Love,
