I love writing the year in review for our Christmas card. It's such a great time to look back over our year and enjoy it all over again. But, since I'll be doing the Christmas cards on an airplane this year, I thought this would be an easier way to look back.
We said we weren't going to travel that much this year. See what you think. Here are all our travel adventures.
We went to Portland for March Madness, Georgia for Alyssa's baptism (and other fun, here, and here, and here, and here), Seabrook in May, Utah in September to see Brent's mom before she went on a mission, and of course all our other family too (as seen here, and here), Mt Rainier on an especially beautiful October day (more pictures here, here, and here), I went to Portland two other times for churchy type things - once for Youth Conference and once for Time Out for Women, Brent went backpacking in the Olympics, which you'll have to go here to read about, AND we're about to embark on our most fun adventure of the year - my Birthday (12/12/12) Extravaganza! Not that much traveling. Ok, we're travel junkies.
But even with all that travel, we've had plenty of time to have some fun and get some stuff done around the house. We remodeled our basement, again, so we could move our bedroom down there. It was glorious during the summer when it was hot upstairs. We don't have air conditioning so when it hits 90 degrees outside, which thankfully, it doesn't do that often, it gets kind of hot in here. Now all we have to do is finish remodeling our old bedroom into the new tv room and things will be getting back to normal.
Daisy, our cat, is still crazy and gets into the weirdest predicaments, just look here or here, here or here. At least she's entertaining.
AND Brent didn't travel at all for work this year. He's just working on one boat (that's what they call the submarines) so he's here for another year or so, which is nice.
I'm still busy with those things that keep me busy...and loving it, even when I complain.
In August, we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. It's amazing that it's been that long, but we still like each other quite a bit, so I think we're doing something right.
At the end of the year, I feel like it's been a good year if you can look back and smile. So this has been a good year. We look forward to seeing what adventures we get to go on in 2013.
We hope you've had a wonderful 2012 and are safe and happy too. We are so thankful for all of our blessings, including our friends and family.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
